Taha has several years’ experience in portfolio management, finance and accounting, financial analysis, review and reporting. He has been actively involved in corporate commercial issues, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management, variance reporting, and periodic financial and managerial reporting.
Prior to joining the Institute, Taha had been employed for several years initially as an Investment Analyst, then Portfolio Manager, and then as a Director, Capital Markets with an investment firm in the UAE. Prior to this he was a financial controller for an IT company in Dubai. Before that he was employed as a Management Accountant in a motor vehicles and electronics businesses conglomerate in Saudi Arabia.
During the past several years, Taha has been designing and implementing professional development programs in accounting and finance. His recent experience includes managing customized capacity development programs and other specialized programs for GCC nationals. Although Taha has delivered some professional programs to expatriates working within the GCC, his focus since 2003 has been exclusively on country nationals, particularly Emiratis.
Taha earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Karachi University and passed the CA Foundation Level from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He obtained the CMA designation from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and earned the CFA Charter in 2006.
